On To The Calgary Stampede   Leave a comment

We had little time to drive the 800 miles from Oregon to Calgary, so we high-tailed it to the Canadian Border thru Idaho.

Crossing the border is always a feeling of apprehension. You never know what questions they are going to ask. And you certainly don’t want them taking away any of your food that they’ve decided you can’t bring into the country.

We got a kick out of the mountain right at the border. Very funny how they cut a line thru the trees designating the US/Canada border.

We picked the scenic way to drive to Calgary, thru the Canadian Rockies. What a beautiful sight!

We stopped at an overlook at Columbia Lake and found that is the source of the Columbia River! I think we need to add this stop to the Lewis & Clark trip.

We arrived at our Calgary Campground only to be greeted by many of our guests for the first week of the Calgary Stampede. We were so happy that Kenny and Lynnette were there to greet them and host a social.
