Hillbilly Hotdogs   Leave a comment

When you’re in West Virginia, ya gotta stop for a Hillbilly Hotdog.

There are several locations, but we went to the original located in Lesage, West Virginia, as advertised on the Travel Channel.

We ordered the special of the day, West Virginia Dog, which comes with a homemade sauce, mustard, onions, and slaw. I think their hot dogs are supposed to be deep fried, but I couldn’t tell you with all the “stuff” on it.

After putting in our order, we were serenaded by the cashier because we gave her a tip (that’s tradition so she said).

We “dined” in their fine dining room which was an old church bus.

Before departing, we put our “John Hancock” on the wall, which is another tradition.

They even give you the sharpee to sign any place you want.

I have to say, this was quite “a place”

but we are still fans of Stewart’s Hotdogs in Huntington, West Virginia.
