Day 3-6 Calgary, Canada   Leave a comment

Our travel day to Calgary was an interesting one. Flooding of Southern Alberta has caused road closures in all directions. Even Downtown Calgary was flooded! It was not pretty.

Prior to entering the flood zone, we passed a farm.

Farmers have the best sense of humor.

I took photos of the devastation as we drove, changing our course each time we hit a road closure.

Then we hit traffic….

A cement plant got some of their cement trucks to dry ground.

Road closed on the other side

As we got closer to our exit, it wasn’t looking good

And the traffic got heavier

The waters were looking pretty angry as they continued to flow

We were glad to finally arrive at our campground and to know that we are high above the waters. A few days of R&R are planned.
